CTI Helps Bank Understand Failures From Cards

CTI carried out a single 'VIP' card test at the request of the issuing bank, in order to understand the reason behind a number of failures reported by customers who had cards issued from a particular branch.
We discovered that the card had been Encoded by the Branches Customer Select PIN machine, and found the cards to have remnants of the original Encoded data from the Card Manufacturer, as the Branch device hadn't successfully overwritten the original data. We recommended that the Encoding Unit in the Branch received urgent servicing attention, before further cards were affected.
CTI's independent Encoder testing Programme can help here, by forming part of a proactive preventative maintenance schedule, helping issuers target Encoding Units for servicing that are not performing at their optimum.
