CTI’s Lab Expansion Opening Ceremony

CTI meets ISO standards with contact and contactless EMV IC chip cards
Honourable Bill English, Deputy Prime Minister, cuts the ribbon commemorating CTI's expanded testing laboratory watched by Paul Quinn (Member of Parliament), David Reynolds (Technical & Sales Manager for CTI) and Susie DeDera (Director for CTI).

Largely prompted by the uptake in Chip Card testing, CTI has doubled its testing facilities in terms of both staff numbers and laboratory work space. The Deputy Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Bill English, and Member Of Parliament Paul Quinn, visited the expanded lab to commemorate the opening, along with key Executives from the Banking & Finance Sector.

Following the announcement by major card issuing schemes, that cards should be chip capable, many banks naturally stepped up to the mark to set about doing this. CTI continues to play a key part in independently vetting Issuers card products prior to hitting the marketplace, so that there is an opportunity for any quality issues to be addressed before cards are sent out to the public.

CTI are experts in worldwide ISO Standards requirements for compliance & durability of cards, and are therefore well placed to test the new contact and contactless chip card technologies that many Issuers are rapidly up taking. CTI is also proud to be hosting the March 2012 ISO Working Group Meeting in Queenstown, New Zealand, which will see worldwide experts gather to discuss the developments in Card Standards & Testing Methods.
